Mirayah’s Recovery

Donation protected
On Valentine’s Day most people are spending time with their loved ones and enjoying the wonderful day but for Mirayah the day was a terrible tragedy. While Mirayah and Sean were on their way to have lunch together on their special day, they were involved in a motorcycle accident. They were rushed to Cedars Sinai Medical Hospital where there the doctors worked hard to act on the pain from the accident. Along with the extreme road rash and many skin abrasions it was concluded she had an acute spine fracture, slipped disk and an abnormally large space between her vertebrae. She is scheduled to meet with a fusion surgeon in the upcoming weeks to consult her spinal injury. In addition with all of the physical stress this has caused it has also stirred a lot of emotional pain. It triggered her Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) which Mirayah has been battling with from an accident that happened when she was 5. In 1996 she was ejected out of the windshield and the vehicle propelled on top of her. Which left her pinned between the pavement and the vehicle alone. She was then struck by a drunk driver from the opposite direction which dragged her across 100 ft. of asphalt. During her time in the hospital, her heart stopped on record a total of 12 times. She lost her appendix, spleen and right kidney. Doctors prepared her parents for death or little to no mobility. The motorcycle accident has brought such horrible memories back into her and her family’s life. She was in the hospital 4 days and the doctors have assigned bed rest for 3 weeks to a month. She is a freelance makeup artist and with the sudden loss of mobility she is not able to work or even do simple tasks without assistance. Mirayah is one of the most warm and caring individuals and it saddens everyone to see her this way. She puts her family and friends first, adores her boyfriend Sean and enjoys the company of her dog Slash. Mirayah is always the life of the party. She is sure to find a way to put a smile on everyone’s face. With your support and prayers, we can help her move past this tragedy. Funds raised will help Mirayah take care of living expenses as she navigates this horrific experience and to pay for ongoing medical expenses and surgery.
