I have been selected to attend a two week youth business development internship in New York City this summer. I am currently a high school junior at Mickey Leland All Male College Preparatory School in Houston, Texas. In addition to my advanced studies, I am a member of Kappa League Houston and Enzo Worldwide Organization. I love to sell clothes and make profit from it. I work together with colleagues as well as myself to run a small sneaker business. My goal after graduating from high school is to attend a great university and study business.
One way of achieving my academic and career goals is to take advantage of a fantastic learning opportunity called Youth About Business (YAB). YAB is a summer program that will prepare students for real life business problems and plans.
During my two week-long program at Columbia University, a private Ivy League research campus in Upper Manhattan, I will participate in a Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) simulation as well as act as the executive management team with my peers from around the country. Then, I will intern on Wall Street to explore New York City and interact with dozens of business professionals in the corporate community. I believe this opportunity will enhance my understanding of the business field, strengthen my leadership, professional networking and critical thinking skills.
It would be very beneficial if you helped sponsor my participation in Youth About Business. While I have applied for financial aid, I need to contribute an additional $3000 towards tuition, travel and miscellaneous expenses during my two week stay in NYC. Your assistance of $25, $50, or $100 would help to make this opportunity available to me.
