Outdoor classroom & sensory garden

Donation protected
Barnawartha Primary School is a small rural school near Wodonga, in the Indigo Shire of Victoria. In 2018 we will have a community of 33 students and  approximately 21 families and proud to say that we are growing strong.
To give our students a unique point of difference in their education and embrace our beautiful rural setting, we are building outdoor classrooms, campfire, sensory garden and pathways and a high activity play area.
We strongly believe in kids being kids, switching off from technology, playing and learning outdoors and fostering the importance of imaginative play and 'sensory grounding' in child development.
Our new pathways will be a combination of materials to provide different kinaesthetic sensation, our plants are a variety of textures, sights and smells with stepping stones through the gardens to allow children to immerse themselves and play in a garden rather than it being something to just look at. The garden includes a bridge over a stone river bed, and a wishing well, stimulating their imagination and creativity. The new large outdoor classroom also has the additional feature of a built in campfire to hold family nights, community and cultural events, the smaller classroom has the option to hold small group sessions or just a quiet space  to read, think, rest and enjoy the surroundings.
We are seeking support from anyone, who can provide donations to support the supply and construction costs.
The total cost is $32,500, and whilst it would be amazing to raise this amount, we're not greedy, we have flipped alot of sausages and sold alot of cakes and cleaned our own school, to raise alot ourselves.
We are seeking $10,000. This would allow us to have the play space of our students' dreams - additional features of a pirate ship, toy car race track (looks like a mini BMX track, but for toy cars and trucks) and second climbing dome.
Individuals or businesses whose donations are over $1,000 would receive their name separately on a commemorative plaque displayed in the new garden. All donations under $1000 will be acknowledged within a group plaque.
Works commence in January 2018 with the completion date by the 1st of March 2018.
I can't express enough how grateful our community and our students would be, we rely so heavily on the kindness and generosity both physically and financially of others to give our kids the best opportunities. Your financial support would then allow us to use our remaining funds that we have raised to further enhance our resources.
