West Mich Rugby to North Carolina

Hello there, My name is Anthony Saladino. I'm currently the president of Western Michigan University's Mens Rugby Club.

We have had an extremely exciting fall! Currently our team is ranked 23rd in the country. We finished undefeated in the MAC North, and are seeded First entering into the MAC tournament.  The tournament will be held November 7, 8 at The University of Cincinnati. (times unknown)

With this success comes great possibilities for our club and our school to be recognized at a national level. We have been invited to the American Collegiate Rugby Championship (ACRC) Bowl Series November 20-22

The trip from WMU to Charlotte, North Carolina, is 11 hours and 7 mins long, covering 701 miles, renting a charter bus would be ideal. This way we could cut down cost of renting vans, filling them individually with fuel and not paying additional mileage charges. We can also eliminate the liability of having a tired student athlete drive a vehicle with the lives of his fellow teammates in his hands.  

The tournament fee has been increased from last year, and the cost of travel and tournament entry are just too great for us college kids to pay. With being a club sport we don’t get much funding from our school, but that doesnt deter us. We are looking for $4000 dollars to cover the $2000 entry fee and the remaining $2000  for the charter bus fee.
