Help send NJ Delegate Jeff to DNC

My name is Jeff Epstein and I am a super-volunteer here in New Jersey. For the past four months I have been a full-time volunteer on the campaign, and I am currently Deputy Chief of Staff for Philly.FYI Activists (http://philly.fyi), the group organizing the marches and events around the Democratic national convention.

I never heard of Bernie Sanders before August of last year, and before Bernie Sanders I never did anything political except for vote. Now my life is dedicated to the revolution that Bernie Sanders has started. And I don't mean during this election, I mean for the rest of my life.

I ran for surrogate in Burlington County, New Jersey, and am one of only around 40 candidates in the country to be personally endorsed by Bernie Sanders.

My first campaign, zero dollars in fundraising, no staff, only 60 days to run my campaign where my opponent had more than double that, and no support from anyone except real people, I got 11,633 votes, 28%.

The most I ever donated to a political campaign before Bernie Sanders was $40 total to Barack Obama in 2008. I maxed out for Bernie.

I also had a phone banking party at my house every week for months, and have seen Bernie Sanders in person four times in three different states. The above picture is when I met Bernie Sanders in South Carolina and asked him if he believed current prisoners should have the right to vote. He was answering my question, saying that yes he does believe it, and that Vermont is one of only two states in the country that already allow it.

However, I like to think of this picture as he is disciplining me.

Why I need money:

I live 30 minutes away from the Wells Fargo Center, where the Democratic National Convention is being held. Yet all delegates are required to stay in a hotel. The hotel is $469 a night, and we are required to reserve a room for five nights at a minimum. This cost (469×5=2,345) covers the room fee only--not food or incidentals. To save money, I am attempting to share the room with other Bernie delegates, and whatever excess funds I receive will be given to other delegates across the country.
