My name is,
Angel Garcia and I am a student and philanthropist at California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB). This year, I was nominated to represent my sorority, Alpha Phi (Eta Beta Chapter) as a "Toy Princess" nominee for Sigma Nu (Lambda Chi Chapter). The purpose of this nomination is help raise funds and awareness for St. Jude's Children Research Hospital. St. Jude's takes pride in giving children and their families a safe haven during the most strenuous times.
Collegiate chapters on college campuses all across North America host philanthropic events each year - ranging from tournaments, banquets and competitions - with a cooperative goal in mind: to help raise awareness and funds that support St. Jude's research in finding cures for life-threatening diseases for children. Today, chapters are taking this commitment to children's health one step further by making an impact in their local communities.
St. Jude's Children Research Hospital has impacted my family and I as I had a cousin that suffered from a terminal illness. What I have learned, is that, St. Jude's is more than just a research hospital; It's a foundation that keeps families going, long after they have nothing left to give. I hope to bring awareness to individuals and families, that they're not fighting the big fight alone. It is my wish to help all families and suffering children a new meaning of hope!
It is my desire to raise $5,000 for their research.
Because the majority of St. Jude's funding comes from individual contributors, St. Jude has the freedom to focus on what matters most, saving kids regardless of their financial situation. All children can be affected by a terminal illness, so please join me and my campaign, to help raise funds, and awareness by educating more individuals on how St. Jude's transformed so many lives.
