The Bridges Family Lost Everything

Imagine leaving for work like any other day...AND THEN the call comes! The area you live in is under mandatory evacuation...there's a huge wildfire headed straight to your home! Their home was in Magalia, CA right next to Paradise, CA. You and your husband hop into the car to race back, through the fire, home to get whatever you can, only to be turned away. You realize your entire life history is in there and you are HELPLESS! The only possessions you have for you and your family is what you left with that morning. This is the reality for so, so many! Ashley and Michael had to endure this unthinkable situation, grateful that the children and dog are safe, worrying about the family cat and seeing an absolute inferno around you.
Michael and Ashley both work at Butte College. They were, thankfully, in the same location and knew that Sophie (age 5) and Sawyer (age 1) were being cared for. They made their way to Michael's mom's house in nearby Chico only to be evacuated again when the fire started racing in the direction of Stephanie's house. They were able to secure a hotel around 3 am the next morning.
Today, 11/12/18, they were able to return to their house to find nothing but ash. Everything they had is gone! In all they lost their memories, clothes, at least one vehicle (the other is at Butte College, condition unknown) their precious cat...and, quite possibly, their jobs. This family had just recovered from a months long illness that Michael had and maternity leave after Sawyer's birth. (For every month someone is out of work, it takes 2 1/2 months to recuperate)
They've never asked for any assistance when life got tough. They really could use any help you can provide. The funds will go directly to Ashley, Michael, Sophie and Sawyer Bridges for living expenses, and total control over this page is in their hands. It will be months before the insurance companies sort everything out and they will need to replace clothing, diapers and find a place to live in the meantime. We appreciate anything you can do to help!
