Replace Linka's Missing Camera Gear

On the last weekend of June I was in Hamburg working at an event, sharing my photographic light boxes at the MLove ConFestival. On the final night of the event, they held a private party on the MS Stubnitz, a ship on the harbor of Hamburg. I was taking pictures and enjoying the atmosphere of the ship. I had my camera with me and was taking some photographs. At one moment I realized it wasn't on my shoulder. I began frantically looking for it. A couple people joined me & we searched the ship. Everyone seemd to think it would be returned, that it must of just been picked up and turned into someone. Thus I also believed this & returned the next day in hopes of having it found. It was not & I had to accept that my beloved camera had been stolen. I should have been more careful.

I work as a photographer, artist and writer. My camera is 99% of how I earn my living. I was devastated to have it stolen from me. In fact, I had only owned it since January of this year. I had saved for months to purchase a new camera, after owning the same one since 2010.

As an artist and with my current budget, I am unable to go out and purchase a new one. Therefore, am  reaching out to my network of friends and family and asking for your help!

The stolen equipment was a Fuji XT1, with an 18-55mm  lens, battery, camera strap, and memory card. Thankfully I still have my beautiful 35mm lens for the Fuji, and some other gear for the camera.

I just want to get back to work, taking pictures and hopefully inspiring people with my artwork as soon as possible, by replacing my stolen equipment.

I was having so much fun with my new camera. I was finding a whole new way of taking portraits with it, truly opening up my creativity. Here is my most recent work for the Isle9 Festival, photographing all the amazing DJ's that will be playing at this festival in Hawaii in March 2016. I loved the double exposure option in my Fuji & all these effects were done in camera. It's really opened up a new world to me. I found my perfect partner in this camera. It's been a real lesson in finding the right gear & how much it can open up your work as an artist to find your perfect instrument!
