Help Give the Gift of Sight

Donation protected
My name is Thomas Messemer and I have an eye disease called  Keratoconus. Keratoconus is a rare, incurable, but treatable disease of the cornea that causes severe vision problems and blindness. Keratoconus is a growing disease that is not recognized by Insurance companies. Unfortunately, insurance does not pay for new and advanced medical care for Keratoconus in the United States. I was very fortunate to get vision saving treatment and care to regain my sight and my family was able to pay for it. I’m doing great and have 20/25 vision.

Now its my turn to give back!

There are many teens just like me who don’t have the financial resources to get the same care and gift of vision like I did.

On August 26, 2018, my mom Diane  will be competing in the Runner's Edge TOBAY Triathlon in Oyster Bay, NY. All proceeds of this Fundraiser Triathlon will be donated in my name to the National Keratoconus Foundation. Donations will be given to another teenager, just like me  who is struggling with Keratoconus. NKCF is the world's premier organization offering outreach programs, awareness, information, resources and support of scientific research into the cause and treatment of Keratoconus.
