I'm raising funds to get money for my lawyer to file paperwork allowing me to have special driving privileges. In my small town, I need this so bad in order to get me from one town to another, to get me to work, to allow me to work. I took my defensive driving course already and passed, yay! So, I just need a few people to care about me getting a job and becoming an adult that contributes to society instead of a bum who only sits on her bum. Also, the main reason for the money support is to help me get my mom to places she needs and wants to go. She is in a wheelchair, and I can't wait to get some good transportation for her to rely on as well. I must file for an SR-22 as well, so if I receive any love, funds will have to go to that expense as well. Then finally, once it's cleared by the judge and my insurance is in line, I get to look for a car. The most dreadful part of all, but with any extra love, that goes to the wheels most definitely. Thank you for your support, and if you read this and didn't support my cause, then thanks for your time and consideration.
Support a Spinal Cord Injury Survivor’s Journey Toward Normalcy. Introduction: A Life Changed in an Instant In 2022, my mom’s life was forever changed after a tragic fall led to a severe spinal cord injury. At just 60 years old, she became a tetraplegic due to a C3 incomplete chronic SCI (spinal cord injury). For someone who’s always cherished her independence and active lifestyle, this sudden change has been unimaginably difficult. Current Situation: Daily Challenges and Roadblocks Since her injury, my mom has been living in a nursing home where transportation is only provided for medical appointments. This means she cannot visit family, run errands, or participate in the simple joys of everyday life. Her world has become confined to the nursing home’s walls, making each day feel more isolating and challenging. Not only that, there are several clinical trials that may help her regain more muscle movement, spasms, or new medicine, or even help her walk again, and the transportation to and from these places that are nowhere near local to us in northern Indiana; most are hours away. Why Funding Is Needed: A Wheelchair-Accessible Van and Lift To help my mom regain her independence, we are raising funds for a wheelchair-accessible van and lift. With these, she could safely leave the nursing home, enjoy outings, visit loved ones, and reclaim a sense of normalcy. Most importantly, a van would allow her to travel to research facilities and clinics that offer promising nerve research and clinical trials—giving her hope for future advancements and better quality of life. Impact of Your Support: Beyond Mobility Your generosity won’t just provide transportation—it will help restore my mom’s mental and emotional well-being. Every ride to a park, family gathering, or research appointment will remind her that life is still full of possibilities. Access to clinical trials and research facilities could open doors to new treatments and opportunities, empowering her as she faces each new challenge. Closing: Gratitude and Hope We are deeply grateful for your consideration and support. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement brings us closer to helping my mom live her life to the fullest again. Thank you for believing in her journey, and for giving hope where it’s needed most. Together, let’s help her reclaim independence and look toward a brighter future.
