Lunch for All East Penn Students
Donation protected
No student in the East Penn Schools should have go hungry during the school day. Hunger increases stress, makes it more difficult to concentrate, and prevents kids from reaching their potential. And besides, freedom from hunger should be a basic right in our community.
More than 1 in 5 East Penn students qualify for free or reduced lunches. But some of these families still don't have enough money to pay for lunch. Right now, such families have more than $1,775 in school lunch debt.
The goal of this campaign is to lift that burden, by paying off the lunch debt of all East Penn School district families eligible for free or reduced lunches.
Will you help?
PS: This campaign started as an idea from community members in a discussion about ending 'lunch shaming' at East Penn. You can learn more here: An End to Lunch Shaming in East Penn.
PSS (as requested by gofundme): My name is Ziad Munson, an Emmaus resident, father to two kids in East Penn, and a member of the East Penn School Board. The money collected from this campaign will be donated in its entirety to the East Penn Cafeteria Fund, where I have confirmed with the superintendent of schools it will be applied to the accounts of economically disadvantaged students.
