Help Mohamad's Family: From War to Hope

Dear friends,

My name is Mohamad AlZaqzooq, and I am reaching out to you from Rafah, in southern Gaza, where I find myself and my family displaced amidst the ongoing conflict. The brutality of the war on Gaza has rendered life here unbearable, and I am compelled to seek refuge elsewhere, away from this relentless turmoil.

In moments of despair, I often recall a photograph I took in the serene oasis of Siwa. The tranquility of that place stands in stark contrast to the chaos and devastation I witness daily in Gaza. It is this memory that fuels my determination to seek a better life, free from the horrors of war.

As I embark on the journey to evacuate from Gaza, I am faced with the daunting task of raising 30.000 EUR to cover the necessary expenses. I humbly ask for your support in this endeavor. Your contribution, no matter how small, will make a world of difference in helping me secure a safer future for my family and me.

For those who may not know me well, I am Mohammed AlZaqzouq, a Palestinian author and researcher. I have dedicated my life to literature and education, striving to amplify the voices of my people through my writings. My work has been recognized and honored in various literary circles, including the prestigious AlKhalili award for poetry.

I am a husband and father of three children: Baraa, aged 6, Jawad, aged 4, and Basel, aged 2. The decision to leave Gaza will take us towards Egypt for a period of six months as we arrange for our literary residency and explore opportunities for a more stable life.

With your support, I hope to continue my journey of resilience and resistance against the injustices imposed upon us. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those affected by conflict and adversity.
