100 Kids at The Black Panther Movie
Donation protected
Women of Color invite you to seize upon an opportunity to expose children of all color to positive images of black people by helping us raise $3,500 - $4,000 to take 100 tweens/teens and 30 chaperones to a screening of The Black Panther movie on February 17 at a local movie theater in Cambridge, MA.
Women of Color is a community-based group whose social goals are to connect, engage, and inspire one another to action. For this event, Women of Color is partnering with Cambridge City leaders to ensure that a wide array of Cambridge-area children have access to this rare opportunity to experience a movie where diverse people of color are in roles of empowerment as defenders of country, people, and principles.
Women of Color will use the funds raised to pay for movie tickets, transport, popcorn, and soda. In a world abound with negativite imagery, our hope is that, by exposing these impressionable children to empowering images of people who look like them, they will see the heroes within themselves.
If we surpass our goal, 100% of the remaining proceeds, will go to enrichment, educational, and emotional support of all children of color in the community.
Thanks, in advance, for your support and encouragement!
