$10k for our 10th Anniversary

A decade of my life has been dedicated to local makers and artists. My twenties were spent in a class room teaching early childhood, and my thirties were spent in a gallery curating over fifty art shows. I am welcoming my forties in August with the hope that Secession can survive San Francisco.

In the time that I have owned my store I have been successful, been evicted and relocated two blocks from my original location, renovated a restaurant into a gallery, and worked almost every weekend. This past year the transit changes, the fire, politics, and changing retail behaviors have challenged whether or not I can continue to keep my doors open. Last week I had an attempted break-in, and another financial setback when they broke my glass door, which is not covered by insurance.

I believe that together as community we can hold onto the places that mean so much to the ecosystem of a neighborhood. Secession is a gathering space where we can proudly say that we know our makers and that a majority of our art, clothing, and jewelry are still made by hand and in the Bay Area. Thank you for believing in what I do. I love my dream job of owning Secession Art & Design.

Every sale and donation helps no matter how big or little.
