12 Angry Men Performed By 12 Impassioned Women

On April 5 – 8, 2019, readings of “12 Angry Men” performed by 12 Impassioned Women will be presented all over the country at community colleges, law schools, universities, high schools, community and regional theaters, and community centers. Each reading will be followed by voter registration. Cast and audience members will also be given tools to increase voter registration and turnout.
Dozens of communities from Alaska to Florida and Wisconsin to Texas have expressed interest, but unfortunately registration and script costs are beyond the means of what some can afford.
Learn more about the types of communities you’ll be supporting:
Lubbock, Texas: An MFA student in Texas let us know her advisors have approved using 12,000 Voices as the basis of her thesis project. To help defray grad school costs, she works at Texas Tech Law School. She has coordinated with them to use an actual courtroom on campus to present “12 Angry Men” performed by 12 Impassioned Women! This late in the semester, the school has allocated all of its funds. Your funds will make this vision a reality for a Texas college campus.
Trenton, New Jersey: A drama teacher let us know that her school doesn’t have the funds to acquire rights to existing works. Her creative solution is to have her students write their own after-school plays. She remarked, “Presenting ‘12 Angry Men’ performed by 12 Impassioned Women would allow my students to engage with a classic play for the first time.” She also noted, “These presentations provide an incredible opportunity for first-generation parents in my community to register to vote!”
Let's not let costs prevent communities from participating in 12,000 Voices.
– $50 provides a company with a few of their scripts.
– $100 provides a company with half of their scripts.
– $180 provides a company with enough scripts for their entire cast and director.
– $350 covers the cost of registration, which includes access to artwork and press material, the rights to the play, guidance for their presentation, and listing in a national database.
– $550 lets you actually “adopt a community!” You're welcome to remain anonymous or have your name appear in their program, have direct contact with the producer, and even attend the reading!
