Now that the leak is fixed (for the time being anyway) we can address the rest of their issues. Unfortunately the condition of there home is very much less that standard. They live on less than $800/month plus very little in food stamps. They do not have an operating toilet, have not had hot water for approx 2 years, they boil water to “wash up”. The roof leaks, the walls are buckling, you can see outside from in the house, parts of the house is rotting, shingles are missing, house needs painting, the ramp is very old and rotting. All of their appliances need replacing. Bert’s mattress is torn and old, Ms Cindy sleeps in her chair due to her health, she needs a new chair. From what the plumber said, the entire house needs to be replumbed. They need new toilets and tubs and more than likely a hot water tank.
