22q at TLPZ Worldwide Awareness Day
Donation protected
22q (aka DiGeorge syndrome) syndrome is a rare genetic disorder where a small piece of the 22nd chromosome is either deleted or duplicated, affecting every system of the human body. It is so difficult to diagnose because each child has a unique set of symptoms that can cover +180 symptoms. After Down Syndrome, it’s considered the second most common genetic disorder, yet the least known. On May 20th, 2018, at the Tampa Lowry Park Zoo we will be celebrating a Worlwide Day of Awareness with the amazing families of 22q kids. With this Go Fund Me, we are hoping to be able to cover an entire day of fun for these families at the zoo! You see, because of how diverse their symptoms are, the average cost of medical treatment can run up to $727, 178*. We would love to cover the cost of the zoo experience for these families and donate to the 22q Family Foundation. Thank you!
