Finishing My Long Deserved Degree

Hello to all you who are taking the time to read and understand my story! My name is Nacy Sexton and I am a Virginia native. I am a fun loving and caring person and have the best family and friends anyone can ask for - as well as a devoted partner of over 7 years. I love education and what it means to the human race and its uphill battle fought daily in society. I am a lover of languages and its people. I play the piano and love music in general. So that’s a little about me - but we will embark on the journey of why I am asking for help from anyone that can lend a helping hand to my need of going back and finishing my degree.
And so we begin - After graduating high school in 2003, I decided to embark on my adult life. So, I decided to move to France and study pastry art and found that it was a passion to my artistic side but that I may have another calling in my life - TEACHING!! So, I returned in 2005 and was lucky to receive a job as a supervisor at a local factory in Marion, Va. (Where I grew up). I moved out on my own and after working for 2 years I decided this is not all that was meant for me in life - as told to me by many others as well. So, I decided to go back to college. I attended Wytheville Community College from 2007 until 2010 and received my honorary degrees in Education and Liberal Arts. I was a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society and was an upheld member of the WCC staff and students and was presented at two different Leadership conferences. Before graduation from WCC, I applied to the University of Virginia and to my surprise...I WAS ACCEPTED! This thrilled me to the core and I was so excited to be invited to be a student at this prestigious University. My first year there was unsullied, and I earned a 3.3 GPA and accelerated at high intervals. However, my last semester of my final year...is where my trouble began. When I was in high school I was involved in a motor vehicle accident (I was a passenger), and the doctors discovered I had LAC (Lupus Anti-coagulancy) and that it would cause some issues in my health for my lifetime. Well the inevitable happened and I became very ill, which caused me to medically withdraw from the UVA community. I had to look into my rear view mirror as it seemed my childhood dream was being crushed - as I needed to embark on my treatments and get back my strength. Being that I was trying to be a fulltime student, with only a menial job; I could not afford all of the medical bills that were thrown my way. My friends and family is what kept me motivated to recover at a fast rate, including my best friend and partner, Shane. So with only 2 (TWO) classes away from graduating, I failed to reach my goal of graduation from UVA.So, this is my plea to get some help from anyone that might be able to grant me this wish of going back to college and finally earn my degree. I would like to pay off these expeses before August 2016, so that I can enroll in classes for the Fall semester. It would mean the world to me for any help that I receieve from friends, family and from the spectacular Anonymous donations to my cause. I promise to devote the rest of my life to helping others like me that may have to embrace the struggles that I did - and help them as you have helped me! I am wanting to continue after receiving my Bachelors to go and get my master’s in Education and teach Spanish and Drama and help society the best I can. Thank you for listening to my story and God Bless.
