Beach 91st Community Garden
Donation protected
The Beach 91st Street Community Garden in Rockaway Beach, N.Y. has been thriving for seven years. Before and after Hurricane Sandy, The Garden has brought joy, tranquility, educational opportunites and a lot of community bonding ( not to mention pounds and pounds of fruits, vegetables and flowers) to our neighborhood.
Unfortunately , the " construction" fence abutting the southern perimeter of the garden has not fared so well since Hurricane Sandy. With each windy day and rainstorm the neighboring residents adjacent to the garden are patching the "fence" and trying to stabilize it. It remains a hazard to our gardeners and vistors.
At our recent Spring 2016 meeting, we decided to use available garden funds to replace the "construction" fence with our own fence on The Garden property but we need YOUR help in raising an additional $1000 . We need to rebuild a lasting fence that will not only look good but will withstand the elements and protect The Garden from future storms.
Please consider a contribution of $20 or more so we can build a new, safe fence as our 2016 growing season begins. If you would like to learn more, please visit us on Facebook and like our page- "Beach 91st Street Community Garden".
Thank you all in advance and please stop by and say hi!
