I've had Carpal Tunnel Syndrome in my right hand/arm for a long time, but in mid-December, it began to get worse. The pain intensified and the numbness increased. In fact, my middle finger is now completely numb all the time and I wake up on average of three to six times every night from the pain. The only way I can sleep at all is lying face-down with my arm dangling off the bed, which causes immense swelling (see the photo).

The CPS affects every single thing I do, from simple things such as eating and bathing to using the computer, which is how I make ends meet. And it's getting worse still. It's to the point that I honestly can barely use an ink pen without excruciating pain.

I saw a very good orthopedic surgeon, who said I needed to have carpal tunnel release surgery. It was scheduled for June 10th and costs $1,000. $500 of that has to be paid before the operation.

I can handle making the payments beyond the initial $500, but that is a hefty chunk of change for me to cime up with in that amount of time.

I vented about my predicament on Facebook and a friend suggested that I set up a GoFundMe page. I wouldn't even consider it if I wasn't so desperate for this surgery. Please consider helping with whatever you can. It is very much appreciated.

Thank you.
