Multiple Sclerosis Donation

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) affects millions of people worldwide; however, we do not know the cause, nor do we have a cure.  Basically, it is when your own body attacks its nerves leading to nerve damage.  Nerves serve as railroad tracks to send information to and from your brain to the rest of your body.  So when these railraod tracked are damaged and not working properly you can see a variety of symptoms such as trouble walking, feeling tired, muscle weakness or spasms, blurred or double vision, numbness and tingling,
poor bladder or bowel control, pain, depression, and problems focusing or remembering.
Why did we choose MS? One of our professors was stricken with MS while he was a first year medical student.  He recently shared his story with us during class and we were all very moved, yet inspired.  It made us realize the negative impact MS could have on one's life.  He was a perfectly healthy young adult in his 20's participating in activities he loved such as golf and softball.  He then began to have weird symptoms that would come and go.  There was a period of time he lost hearing in one ear, but then it came back.  Another time, he had a problem with fine motor function in his hands to the point where he had a very hard time writing.  Although these symtoms seemed to pass, his state progressively got worse and today, he is in an electric wheelchair.  He is unable to do many of life's tasks we take for granted on a daily basis due to the effect MS had on his body.
How will the money be used? Our professor picked an organization of his choosing. The money raised will go to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Thanks! Any donation helps and we are truly thankful for your contribution.
