Find Justice for David N. Thompson

I need to bring public awareness to the tragedy that my family has been forced to deal with and to find justice for my brother David N. Thompson, Sr.  of  Madison , Wisconsin. He was a decorated disabled Navy Veteran who did not deserve to die the way he did.

On April 24, 2016, while visiting a friend in Jamaica, my brother  was admitted to Cornwall Regional Hospital in Montego Bay of what initially appeared to be a stroke. The next morning I received word he had suffered what the doctor there thought was a heart attack. I was referred by that doctor to what I was led to believe was an air ambulance company, EMed Jamaica. The representative from EMed told me he was Dr. Garth George, an Emergency Room Specialist licensed to practice in Naples, Florida, who had over twenty years experience successfully transporting patients from the Caribbean to Florida.

Trusting he was who he said he was, I paid him  $17,000 for him to immediately transport my brother. However, horifically the transport was delayed for nearly NINE hours while my brother lay strapped to a bed, terrified and in pain. Eventually an ambulance arrived to take him to the airport where a plane was supposed to be waiting, but my brother died before the plane could depart. He died, not from a stroke or heart attack, but from congestive heart failure, as a result of a malfunctioning heart valve, a condition which I have been assured could have been easily corrected had he received a timely transport.

I have since learned the true identity of the person who took charge of my brother's care was Duane Boise, the Owner/Pres./CEO of EMed, not Dr. Garth George. I was further dismayed to learn that Mr. Boise is a felon convicted of the Criminal Use of Another's ID, and had been incarcerated for Violation of Parole until approximately one month prior to attending to my brother.

In addition, after Boise took possession of my brother's wallet for safe-keeping, another $6,000 cash and $7,000 of traveler's cheques was stolen, and an additional $2,500 was withdrawn from his debit card without authorization. In an effort to justify the total charges of $19,500, EMed Jamaica produced documents to Bank of America with signatures that were FORGED, and of which I had never seen or been advised. When I requested a partial refund for services not rendered, I was advised for the first time of their "No Refund Policy" once transport was initiated. I believe this policy to be a direct conflict of interest, and provides no motive to provide a successful service. And, because the transport failed, I had to incur another $12,000 to get my brother's body shipped home.
.
On August 2, 2016, my attorney, Tanya Golaub, filed a civil claim with the Supreme Court of JamaicaI on behalf of the Estate of David N. Thompson, Sr. against EMed Jamaica, Duane Boise, EMed Global Shareholders, and Cornwall Regional Hospital. legal fees so far have cost $5,000.

The matter is currently being investigated by Sargent Andre Johnson of the Jamaican Police Fraud Squad and is being evaluated for criminal action and I have filed a report with the FBI. and have contacted American, Jamaican and Cayman Islands Immigration, and both Jamaican and Cayman Islands media, as well as numerous media outlets in the U.S., to  request inquiries be made into what I consider be be questionable business practices by Duane Boise and EMed Jamaica/EMed Global, Ltd.

It is most regrettable that during what was a most distressing and vulnerable time I was referred to, and taken advantage of by, a broker who has constructed a misleading Internet presence, full of false information giving the impression he owns and operates aircraft, employs medical personnel, is approved by the Embassy, is FAA approved, transports patients to Health City Cayman Islands, has an agreement with the Jamaican Port Authority, has Elder Granger, M.D. – Major General US Army (ret) as a trusted advisor, and has an agreement with VINCI Construction - all false!

I am heartbroken my brother is dead! This is not about money. It is about absorbing the expenses of bring the person responsible for my brother's death to justice. And, unfortunately, Justice Costs Money.
