Support our Books On Wheels Fund

This Fall, the United Teachers of Lowell, the Lowell Public Schools, and First Book in partnership with the AFT are collaborating to bring a tractor trailer filled with engaging books to our community of Lowell, MA. We will distribute these books to programs serving children in need as well as families.
Lowell, MA is a city with a rich diversity of ethnicities, cultures and languages. We want to make sure that the books available to our families and programs are sensitive to and reflect the cultural fabric that is Lowell.
In order to enhance the Books on Wheels project, we would like to purchase additional materials that will support the diversity in our community - multi-lingual books, early childhood books, books that reflect cultural diversity. First Book Marketplace, a venue for purchasing books at 40% to 90% discount, can provide the materials to add to our Books on Wheels book drop.
We need to raise at least $5,000 to take advantage of this program, and we need to do it by October 1, 2016 so that the Marketplace Books are available during Books on Wheels.
Just 500 contributions of $10 each will help us meet this goal of getting culturally sensitive literature into the hands of our children and their families.
First Book is a nationally recognized nonprofit 501(c)(3). Donations are tax deductible. In addition to online donations, we can accept checks payable to First Book offline. Please write "Lowell First Book" in the memo line.
Let's help get books into the hands of our families and the programs that support them!
