Dear Family and Friends,
“THE BATTLE WITH CANCER”
In July 2015, Antoine Ribanje was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. With great determination to beat the disease, he started a series of cancer treatment including chemotherapy.
Throughout the painful physical and mental challenges that Antoine endured, he remained resilient and hopeful with the support of his family and friends. April 2016 proved to be the most difficult and challenging period. Yet still, Antoine continued his fight with an unbelievable spirit and bravery, a smile for his visitors and a wonderful sense of humour that never ceased to raise a laugh to his listeners.
On the morning of May 4th 2016, Antoine Ribanje passed away peacefully at his home in London - UK surrounded by his loved ones. He was 49 years old - only a month-shy of his 50th birthday.
“THE MAN HE WAS”
Antoine is survived by his beloved wife Sarah, his children Stacey, Eden and Roy, his lovely grandson JJ, his mother Anne, siblings Didier, Christine and Alphonsine and his son in law Javin. A true gentlemen, with a big loving heart, he leaves a legacy of love in so many from his in-laws, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, godchildren to the uncountable loving friends around the world - his love, laughter and memories will never cease to exist.
A beacon of kindness and joy. A most helpful brother to many. A gentle soul with so much time and energy to share with others. Through hours of conversations and insightful interactions, to know him was to love him.
Gone too soon, the greatest gift ever received by all who knew him was the amazing calm presence to be rewarded to every person who was lucky to have had the pleasure of knowing him.

He grew up in Kigali - Rwanda and attended Primary, Secondary schools and university in Rwanda with a short stint in Belgium before embarking on a new journey to pursue a career in aviation.
In 1992 Antoine successfully completed a single engine private training program in Dallas – Texas, followed by a double-engine commercial training program at the renowned Ethiopian Airlines Aviation Academy in Addis Ababa – Ethiopia.

Antoine was an avid football enthusiast who loved Chelsea Football Club. His love for Formula 1 is also known to many.
In the last few years Antoine has grown in the knowledge of GOD, this became very clear throughout his illness as his communion with GOD allowed him to overcome the many challenges associated with his illness. We are therefore convinced that nothing, neither death nor life, will ever be able to separate him from the love of GOD that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We will miss him but we remain confident we shall meet again.
