URGENT! We need your help! Second Chance Animal Shelter in MA was on the ground within hours of being called by a local animal control officer for an emergency. A house was condemned and inside was a serious issue. Cats and kittens were everywhere. They were extremely ill with upper respiratory infections, paws swollen and infected and more. We didn't waste any time setting up an emergency shelter and began to triage the cats. Our critical care team was called in to begin treatment to save as many of these lived as possible. Two litters of young kittens are extremely ill. Two more cats are pregnant and due soon. One cat was found already deceased, the tiniest kitten found alone died a few hours after rescue and this is just the beginning. More cats are in the house and traps have been set up to catch them as well. Already there are 25 cats and a turtle in our care and that is expected to climb. The cost for care for this case for medical treatment, care, spay/neuter, and long term rehabilitation is expected to be between $10,000. and $20,000. Please help us as we work through this emergency to try and save these cats. Some are extremely critical so please include them in your thoughts and prayers as well. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts and if they could speak they would say thank you as well. We are working hard to try and save as many as we can and we need you to join us. Thank you!
