The 24-hr Relay Paddle "Monster & Sea"

Donation protected

We are back. YEAR 5!!!!!

Cancer is a taker and our goal is to give just as much right back.

What cancer can’t touch is our spirit, our drive and our will to live every day to its fullest potential. A community of people giving back in a very
grassroots way. We are not a foundation or a charity - we don’t have red tape. Our goal is a simple one - fill envelopes with donations and get them in
the hands of families dealing with cancer. A breath of normalcy for them - thanks to you. Monster and Sea 24 Paddle is an event that inspires people
to give and provides an opportunity for community to gather and rally for great people that are going through one of the most challenging times of
their lives.

We personally know people that can use the help. Dig Paddlesports Quail Creek Team 1 is raising funds for a young man that has been fighting for a
couple of years. His family is incredibly supportive and loving, yet, as most of us, has limited means. TJ Reed is a young man that is cheerfully batting a monster that will total approx 3.5 years of chemotherapy. See his Instagram feed here: https://www.instagram.com/tjcrushescancer/ Together, we can PUSH. BACK. THE LIMITATIONS. This is a small way that we can support them while they are on the front lines 24 hrs per day for the next couple of years.

$5.00? A burger. Amazing what five dollars can do!

$20 bucks? Pizza money.

50 bucks? That's what it costs us to take our kids to see a movie. Instead of gobbling popcorn, we'll make memories that last on the 13th and 14th of April.

I jest a little, but EVERY amount, small or large, is considered sacred and appreciated.

The 24 hours of relay paddling:

"In the spring of 2015, our crew of 6 paddlers took on the challenge of paddling relay style for 24 hours. Our goal was singular: Raise awareness and funds for local families arm wrestling with cancer. The community rallied around us and we raised $5000 and filled 5 envelopes with $1000 each, hand delivered to 5 families  letting them know that they are not alone.

On April 14th of this year - 24 teams and growing, will once again be paddling from 8 a.m on the 14th until 8 a.m on the 15th.

As one person it is difficult to make a difference - but as a community - we are proving that making a difference is  more than possible - it is a joy." - Troy Nebeker, Monster and Sea

2018 was Utah's first time with a team. It was AWESOME. Time to do it again! This year, we'll see how many total miles we can rack up as a group!

Our Southern Utah home base is Dig Paddlesports at Quail Creek State Park in Hurricane. There is plenty of room to accommodate multiple teams.

1) Donate whatever you are able to here on GoFundMe.

2) Sign up to paddle, if you can. With your donation, should you need or want to use our rental fleet, we have gear for you at 1/2 price for the duration of the event. A full 24-hour rental will be just $35 bucks.

3) Share. Share the daylights out of this campaign. Cancer doesn't wait.

4) On the day of The 24, camp by our office or on our beach FOR. FREE. Bathrooms are nearby and open all night long. Day-use and overnight camping fees are waived, thanks to Park Manager C. Smith and Quail Creek State Park.

5) We have sponsors that have generously committed swag and food for volunteers and paddlers. Bring your own if you have a special diet, but we'll have plenty to share.

Paddlers. Volunteers. Sponsors. 1st-timers. Old hands. Kids. All are welcome!

We need paddlers. The more paddlers, the more teams, the more fun! Volunteers are needed to help set up/take down buoys, manage transitions, stoke the fire, play some tunes, take photos, share on social media, etc... Come out and paddle, say hello, cheer loud and even better join in for some time on the water! We will have food and a warm place to nap when needed. Park is waiving entry fees for all participants and camp fees for overnighters.

We would love your business sponsorship. We will promote your business to great volunteers and paddlers around the globe both before and during this event via social media.

We will keep updating our website and social media with event info.

Thank you.

Looking forward to paddling with you the April 13-14!
