Pray for 2 y.o. Mirranda & Family
The day before Alison’s birthday, Pat asked her what she wanted. She told him that she wanted to just spend the day at home celebrating with their four kids, ages 19, 16, 10, and their youngest 2, Mirranda.
On May 11, 2016, Alison woke up on her birthday. Initially she thought that her husband slept in and was late for work, but quickly found out this was his surprise and he would be home all day with her and their kids.
At the end of Alison’s birthday, Mirranda ran in to the living room. Eyes huge, no sound. Time stopped. Those were the last moments they shared before Mirranda fell to the ground; they swept her mouth, nothing; Pat started CPR. The ambulance got there, Mirranda’s heart stopped.
Then… there was hope. Mirranda’s heart started beating, she was intubated and placed on a ventilator and transferred to Children’s Hospital at VCU.
Mirranda had additional signs of improvement, but the hospital is pushing to perform the Brain Death test on Mirranda tomorrow. Should they diagnose her as ‘brain dead’, little can be done to give her more time. We are fighting for more time to let her heal, we ask that you keep her in your prayers, keep the family in your prayers, and keep the specialists and care team in your prayers to make sound decisions for the well-being of Mirranda.
This all was caused by a piece of popcorn. (Please share the danger of popcorn, someone may not know)
Pat and Alison Lawson are my aunt and uncle. While they focus their energy to Mirranda and their other children, along with the uphill battle to get Mirranda more time... I also ask that you reach out to me should you know of an attorney who could offer guidance, as well as a neurologist that would be willing to look through her medical records.
No amount is too small and your generosity is greatly appreciated. It will be used for medical bills and to support the family as they stay by Mirranda’s side.
Thank you for your prayers.
