Aid Mission to Greece
Donation protected
Dear All
Thank you for giving the time to look at this cause.
As many of you know, in April I went to the EKO Petrol station refugee camp near Idomeni, Northern Greece to see how I could help the refugees there.
Well one of the things I realised was that people were in desperate need of everything, but particularly certain items of clothing, and some specific medical supplies.
What I am intending to do is to raise some money to buy needed items from Greece, to help the economy there, when I revisit in September, before it starts getting cold again.
For example, some of the items urgently needed when I visited in April was underwear, which obviously needs to be bought new, nappies, sanitary products, summer clothing and shoes. In September, the needs may be different, for example, thermal underwear and warm items of clothing will be in need.
Refugees were completely relying on donations as the vast majority had no money left. There were only a few organisations and random volunteers trying to provide for the overwhelming number living literally 'on the street' on the forecourt of the petrol station.
So be sure to know that this money will be spent on the most needed items for the most desperate people trying to survive on the periphery of Europe with virtually no support.
Thank you for your help. It will be enormously appreciated.
