My Volunteer Trip to Nicaragua

Hi everyone! My name is Taylor Naef , and I am a junior at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wisconsin.  In January of 2017, I will be embarking with 39 other Carthage students and 2 professors on a once in a lifetime trip to Nicaragua to work side by side with medical doctors in clinics.  I have never been able to leave the United States, and I am so excited to finally be able to experience another part of the world so different from my home.  We will be staying on Ometepe Island, an island made from two volcanoes - one dormant and one active (how cool!)  As many of you know, I am very interested in veterinary medicine, but I also want to experience human medicine.   What better way to do this than by helping others in a beautiful country who need it the most.  Along with working in clinics, we will be able to sight see around the country by kayaking, hiking, horse back riding, and just experiencing the different culture.  The cost of the trip is $2,500 which will be covering almost everything, including airfare, transportation, stay, and meals.  We embark on our journey in eight short months!  If you can and are willing, I would be tremendously grateful for any and all donations towards my trip.  If you are not able, any thoughts and prayers for safe travels are just as appreciated!!  I want to experience this incredible trip because I truly want to help change someone's life.  Thank you all so much just for taking the time to read this; I appreciate every single one of you.
