Dear family and friends,
We are trying to raise funding for the archiving, cataloging and potential show and or retrospective of our father's body of art. We want to honor his legacy!
The amount of work Peter did in his short lifetime should be seen, distributed, preserved, exhibited, donated and sold.
Dad kept everything and for the most part he signed and dated all of it. He saved all of his gallery and museum correspondence dating back through the 50's, every single photograph, negative, note, letter and various writings about his life. Because of this we have an extensive background on many of his pieces.
We are working with an archivist who is accepting partial pay in trade for a painting. However, this being an extensive job including research, tracing the provenance of the work, photographing everything, setting up a website, contacting collectors, galleries and museums that he has listed as owning his work, keeping the climate controlled storage space, purchase of archival art containers and office equipment to organize and catagorize it all, travel, framing, reframing- we require extra money.
This project is a dream come true for us. Having been around his talent for 52 years and having inherited the curse and blessing of creativity and magical thinking, we are determined to put him in the history books. Thank you all for the love and support in this monumental event!
