Hello everyone!
This summer, I have the amazing opportunity to study coral reefs in Belize with 10 other students through Purdue Study Abroad. Those who know me can imagine the excitement I have for this chance to be directly involved in working with the ocean and marine life I am so passionate about. In addition to documenting the health of the coral ecosystem, I will have the incredible experience of swimming with whale sharks among other adventures I have only ever dreamed of!
I am thrilled to head out on this journey on Thursday May 12, but I still have tons of preparation to do before then! Though I have graciously been granted a few scholarships to help with the cost of this trip, there is still a sizable chunk of the trip left to pay for ($1000). On top of that amount, I still have some expensive gear to purchase that's needed in order to participate in the reef studies. I have been saving up for this all semester, but the money I have made through my job at the libraries is simply not enough to cover all the costs involved.
This is where you all come in! I am fully aware that this is somewhat late notice and that many of you as my friends and college-age peers are tight on money yourselves. That said, I am trusting that God will be faithful in supplying the funds I need, I just want to welcome you to donate whatever amount you may be capable of. If you're not able to offer monetary support, I would equally value your prayers for myself and my teammates. Thank you all, I appreciate any generosity in this endeavour!
