Howdy! My name is Patty, but folks may know me as the artist Celestina.
I'm here because I love my Mom. She has a spinal condition that will eventually take her ability to walk. While she can walk small distances now, it's completely impossible for her to go out for prolonged periods of time without the assitance of a scooter.
Insurance will not cover a moblity scooter for her despite her severe limitation on how much she can walk on her own. Unfortunately, her ability to afford one is well out of her reach.
Recently, my Mother decided to rent one for a day so that we could attend her company picnic. She hasn't been out to an event like this in years. Yet throughout the day she kept saying "I wouldn't have been able to do this". That stuck with me, so here I am.
What we're asking for is $1,400. The price of the scooter is $1,200 before taxes and gofundme fees. We will have it shipped to us and drive it down to her home four hours away.
