Let's take Abuk to Adelaide
Beschermde donatie
Hi my name is Penny,
I have known Abuk Kenyang since she was 9 years old even at that age I knew there was something special about her. Abuk was born in South Sudan and was raised in Dandenong, Victoria. She is the youngest of four children. Now we need help getting Abuk to the School Sport Australia Championships, in Adelaide.
She began playing netball at St Mary’s for just a bit of fun with her friends and to keep fit but who knew it would turn into something much more.
Abuk started to take her netball more seriously when she missed out on being selected for the 11U Dandenong & District Repetitive Team. The next year she came back stronger and more determined. Abuk has proceeded to make the Dandenong & District Representative Teams in 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016.
At the end of 2015 Abuk trialed for Peninsula Waves 19U Victorian Netball League (VNL) team. Initially she did not make the 19U VNL team but was offered a position with the Peninsula Elite Netball 17U squad. From here she impressed the right people making a quick progression through the teams, until she landed a spot in the 19U VNL team.
Abuk is one of the hard working girls I know. She continuously pushes herself to make improvements and better her game. Abuk's hard work is the reason why she has made it this far, along with the contribution of various coaches along her journey.
This year she trialed for the School Sport Victoria 15U State Netball Team, approximately 300 girls were competing for only 12 spots on the team.
The School Sport Victoria 15u State Netball Team will now compete in the School Sport Australia Netball Championship to be held in Adelaide, South Australia from 30th July to the 5th of August 2016.
The cost is approximately $6,000, which includes team levy, uniform cost, transport, first aid, food and accommodation.
Together, with Abuk we would really appreciate your kind donations. This young girl is an inspiration to others, in how hard work; determination and perseverance can really get you places in the world of sport. Let’s help make Abuk's childhood dream a reality, allow her to continue to achieve her goals and take the next step in her netball journey.
