Mary needs us!

This is my sister Mary. She is a mother of three, kind-hearted, generous person, always willing to help those in need. Sadly, four years ago her husband of 20 years spiraled out of control – overwhelmed by an opiate addiction. Unbeknownst to her, he sold many of the family possessions and cashed in his modest retirement account to fund his habit. She only discovered the latter when she received a statement to pay taxes on it. He lost his job along with his dignity. The situation went from bad to worse when he abandoned the family, leaving my sister to raise the girls alone.
Although life has been tough these past couple of years, Mary picked herself up and just “figured it out”. Through hard work and sacrifice, she was able to keep her home, find health insurance for herself and the kids and most importantly, model strength and resiliency for her girls. She has been able to turn things around, tackling each challenge life throws her way. Although her finances have been exhausted with nothing left for a “rainy day”, things are looking up and the future is bright.
Unfortunately, that "rainy day" is here, 3 weeks ago, what she thought was a small leak in the basement turned out to be a serious leak in the main water line from the house to the street. The water company came and turned off the water to the house which stopped the leak. The cost to repair the main water line is way out of reach and exceeds anything she will be able to come up with on her own. Thankfully, her kind neighbors have allowed her to tap into their water so that she can cook and flush the toilets.
I thought if we all rallied together and each of us could just donate a little bit, we could help her turn this situation around. Would you be so kind to donate to this awesome mom, my sister, and share her story with those you know? I know she would do it for you. Thank you so much.
