Mitch's House
Donation protected
Our names are Gene and Dot Ward
. At 5pm, Sunday, the June 5th, our son Mitchell's home burned very badly. This home was his entire asset and was built by he and his family over the past several years. Mitch is a somewhat frail 65 year old and married to Marlaina, a disabled, lovely, former nurse. They lived in this house for a long, happy time. Fortunately, neither were injured
The house is two story, approximately 2000 sq. ft. The upper story is completely destroyed and the lower level extensively damaged by smoke and water.
Besides the terrible loss of virtually all they own, the ultimate tradedy is that they had allowed their insurance to expire.
We are unsure when or if any funds will be available to even begin thinking about rebuilding or repair, but that is their goal. In the meantime, they are living in her mother's house.
It was most heartbreaking to sit on the grass and watch their life and hard work going up in flames. The volunteer fire department's quick response to this rural area, and valiant effort to control, were most deeply appreciated
Any assistance to help Mitch and Marlaina get back on their feet would be highly cherished.
Thank you very much.
