Scott, Aryanna, Jayden tragedy fund
Donation protected
Ok, so I've never done this before but I setup this GoFundMe account for my friend Scott and his 2 children ages 5 and 6. We met them last December. Scott lives in Sioux Falls and recently became a full-time single Dad when his children’s mom was tragically killed by a semi-truck in MN last November. Scott has been doing an amazing job as a father and transitioning the kids through this difficult time with losing their mom, changing schools, and living with him full time. He has had a lot of things to handle with getting the children immediately enrolled in school, finding daycare, doctors checkups, getting health insurance, etc. The list can go on forever. He even setup and attended grief counseling with them. I would say he has handled this better than most of us would have. He is being a great Dad and it’s easy to see how much he loves his kids. His day with his kids starts at 5am as his job starts at 6am. He never complains and the kids are doing well. I dont know how he does it, other than he loves them and wants to provide for them at all costs.
He has been employed with the same company for over 2 years, but at $11hr it’s hard to absorb the additional expenses that came with this transition. He has some financial burdens that are hanging over his head and it’s hard to watch him have to worry about that right now with all of the things he is handling so well for the kids. For example, summer daycare is more expensive, summer clothes, school supplies and clothes (August will be here soon), court fees and legal expenses in getting custody papers finalized from MN, etc.
We have been working with him on a monthly budget and he is responding well. However, $11 hr is hard to work with. We continue to work on finding him a better paying job, but in the meantime he is managing his routine monthly expenses well and making it work. He just needs some help to take care of the additional expenses that came with this tragedy. He could use a new car too. By “new”, I mean a $2500 car, which would be amazing compared to what he is driving now, but that will have to wait until a later time for now.
The history of this families past is brokeness, fatherless, and drug/alcohol abuse. Scott is doing everything he can to break that mold for Aryanna and Jayden and provide them with the oppotrunity of a great future. God has recently blessed them with enrollment into SF Christian Elementary through a scholarship program. What an amazing gift that can help change the path of this families future!
If you feel led to help in any amount, it is greatly appreciated.
