Claire Morgan Support Fund

5 year old Claire Elizabeth Morgan, was not feeling well the end  first week in June, she was complaining of stomach pains.   Claire's parents  Rick and Jana were away with work responsibilities that week,  Jana's parents were staying with her and her brother Kellan. They decided to take Claire into her pediatrician on  6-10-16. The pediatrican did an ultrasound on her and found a large mass the size of a grapefruit on her right kidney. 

It was recommended that they transfer to the University of Iowa PEDs unit in Iowa City.  Claire's grandparents took her right there and she was admitted immediately.  

The Doctors did a contrast CT scan of her torso on Saturday 6-11-16. Rick and Jana received her results Sunday 6-12-16. Claire has a rare cancerous Wilms tumor.   Her kidney was removed on the evening of 6-13-16.   The initial results confirmed the Wilms Tumor diagnosis, but they are still awaiting further pathology results.  Claire is currently recovering from surgery and has a long road ahead of her.  She will have to receive weekly chemo therapy treatments for approximately a year and possible radiation treatments.  

Jana and Rick will likely be making many trips back and forth and will incur  many travel and medical expenses throughout this next year.  The funds raised on this site will go into an account to help cover those costs.

The Morgan family cannot express the overwhelming support of family and friends and the power of prayer that everyone is sending for Claire.  It will be a challenging year for Claire and her family, but they are so very thankful for the love and generosity everyone has shown them and appreciate each and everyone of you!
