Jason Hanson has cerebral palsy. Jason can’t walk, lives with other physical impairments, and must sleep in a special hospital bed which has been denied to him by state insurance. Jason is intelligent and even with his physical disability, has a positive attitude about life.
When Jason was 17, his father passed away, and because Jason had no living relatives, he became a ward of the state. The Las Vegas family court assigned him two private guardians, Jared Shafer and Francis Fine, and a trustee, attorney Elyse Tyrell, who had the task of looking out for Jason’s inheritance until he became of age. The guardians assigned by the court stole all of his money, removing an estimated $108,000 from his Special Needs trust set up by his grandmother. The guardians also sold Jason’s father’s home and its contents for pennies on the dollar and kept the proceeds leaving Jason penniless. The only things Jason was given from his father’s estate were his father’s suits and ties. Sadly, the suits went missing, and all he has from his father now are a few neck ties.
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Abuse and Neglect Detail have launched criminal investigations into the activities of the court appointed guardians. A special Task Force was created by the Nevada Supreme Court. As usual, in cases of this type, the stolen funds are never recovered.
Now Jason lives in a state funded group home. Jason wouldn’t be in this home if his funds were properly handled. The state doesn’t have the funds to buy him a hospital bed that would enable him to have a restful night of sleep.
There are also unpaid medical bills Jason can’t pay.
In order to correct this injustice Jason needs $25,000 which would purchase a hospital bed, pay the medical bills, and buy him some new clothes.
Jason needs your help today. His situation has fallen through the cracks of a corrupt guardianship system. Jason has never asked for a dime, but he is a person who deserves to receive the justice every human is entitled to.

MESSAGE FROM JASON:
"First of all let me say thank you to everyone who donated to my gofundme. I am beyond grateful. I want everyone to know I'm putting your money to good use. I'm not blowing it all on video games and junk food. I've already bought some new shirts, new shoes, and socks without holes in them. With this new money, I'm planning on replacing my father's lost suits, and eventually I'd like to buy a camcorder because my father had one that he recorded all of our vacations and holidays on, and that bastard Jared Shafer sold it. Because of that, I can no longer hear my father's voice when I need to hear it, But regardless, again, I just wanted to say thank you even though that seems like it's not enough. I'm surprised that out of all the causes out there, people can still care about one person whose life was made significantly worse by a broken legal system."
