Hi! Thank you so much for taking a look at my page, that itself means a lot. My name is Kendal Boardman, I am 18 years old and I have been participating in amateur and professional shows since a very young age as well as training in dance and drama, and now hope to continue to make performing my career. Even though this may be challenging, it was when I had the surprise of getting into my first professional show (Irving Berlin's White Christmas at the Theatre Royal, Plymouth and the Lowry Theatre, Salford) that I realised acting is what I wanted to go into.

Recently, I finished my training on the Musical Theatre course at Pendleton Sixth Form College where I am predicted to achieve D*D*D* and I have spent a lot of time travelling up and down the country auditioning for very prestigious drama schools to do acting. I received offers from a few of the schools that I auditioned at including my dream drama school the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. This is a very prestigious school and has generated an elite group of professional actors in both stage and screen and I have been extremely lucky to be accepted as the number of people they audition every year is vast. One hundred and thirty one years ago, the Academy was created and its alumni now hold a total of 105 Oscar, 275 Emmy and 90 Tony Award nominations and includes people such as Danny Devito, Grace Kelly, Paul Rudd, Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain. The two campuses are in New York and Los Angeles and I have been given the incredible opportunity to study at the Los Angeles campus for two years to broaden my knowledge of stage and screen, the history of performing arts and to become a more employable actor.

However, as tuition in the USA is exceedingly expensive and currently living in one income household with modest earnings, we are having to look down routes such as sponsorship and fundraising as I am not eligible for student loans or any grants from Drama UK due to the establishment being overseas. As well as the tuition fees, I would have to pay for medical insurance, accommodation, books and other supplies so you can imagine how expensive it is going to be! I received a $2,000 honours scholarship and $6,000 financial aid scholarship but this is very little compared to the amount I need to raise.

I was originally supposed to start in August 2016 but as my attempts at raising money so far have been unsuccessful, I have had to defer my place to start in August 2017 in hope that I can raise some money over the next year. Attending this school has been my dream for a few years now and I think it's incredibly unfair that performing arts students are expected to pay such extortionate fees to further their career unlike going to university where you can get government funding. Hopefully, this adventure and incredible opportunity isn't out of my reach.

Any donation that you can make would be absolutely amazing and I am grateful for all of your support. Please share! Thank you!!
