Hello! My name is Haleah Laverdure. I'm from Belcourt, ND and I'm an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Band of Chippewa Indians. I'm so honored to have this opportunity to represent my tribe and my beloved home state of North Dakota. My father Andy Laverdure and I were both elected as delegates for Bernie Sanders. I've never been so passionate about a candidate before. I never thought I'd ever be doing anything like this but Bernie's inspired me to get involved because change begins with us first and foremost. He is truly a once in a lifetime candidate and I'm so proud of my home state of North Dakota for being a part of this revolution!
Boozhoo. My name is Andy Laverdure. I'm also a delegate. I'm also an enrolled member of the Turtle Mountain Chippewa. I am Anishinaabe. I'm currently a Tribal Judge here in Belcourt. Haleah is my youngest daughter. I have five children and five grandchildren. I love them with all my heart. I am traditional and have been an active Sundancer for 35 years. I've watched Bernie closely for many years and respect his message. I've always looked at him as a spiritual man who thinks like a Native. I will work hard for each of you while in Philadelphia.
My mother and Haleah's grandmother Betty Laverdure was also a Tribal Judge in the 1960s and she was a Democratic delegate at Chicago in 1968. She witnessed a lot while she was there. She was the only Native American delegate there. She didn't like it that people wanted to have her dress as an "Indian". I guess they wanted to showcase diversity. She spoke of the riots and having police escort from the convention center to her hotel. I'm following in her footsteps and honor her now with this journey to Philadelphia. My daughter Haleah feels the same. Bernie is a warrior for our future, much like our mother/grandmother Betty Laverdure was. He gives us hope. He has awakened us.

We're ready for Philly but we do need help getting there. Thank you so much anything is greatly appreciated even if all you can do is give a share.
