Jon broke both his elbows

Hi, my name is Jon and I'm a bicycle mechanic in Denver, CO.
On Wednesday June 15th, I was riding home from the Denver Wednesday NIght Cruisers ride when a car pulled out in front of me in an intersection where I had no stop sign while I was riding at about 18 mph. I grabbed my front brake and went over the handlebar before making contact with the vehicle. As with so many accidents, the car continued driving and offered no help or apology. I immediatley knew that something was wrong and that I would need to go to the ER.
After 11 hours in the ER with multiple (and excrutiatingly painful) X-Rays and a CT scan, it has been determined that both of my elbows are fractured and I need to have surgery to replace the Radial Head on both elbows.
I cannot currently drive myself, work or really lift anything more than a pound or two . I have had multiple friends have to help me with daily activities such as bathing, cooking and driving me to appointments.
I left a job which had benefits to cover everything just over a month ago and am now using COBRA to try cover this incident but that is $245 a week (which is still better than medical bills out of pocket at least).
I would be SO grateful for any contribution which would go towards these insurance and medical payments as well as helping to cover my rent and bills while I am unable to work.
