Help Tsavo install Beehive Fences!

Tsavo Volunteers ( http://www.tsavokenya.org/ & Facebook )
is seeking donors to help purchase beehives for farmers in the Tsavo area. Even a modest contribution can make a significant difference in the lives of many elephants and farmers!
Tsavo Volunteers is now using beehives to prevent elephants from invading farmers' fields in the Tsavo parks of Kenya. Elephants don't like the noise of bees buzzing, which safely keeps them at bay and reduces human/wildlife conflict. This method was originally developed by Dr. Lucy King of Save the Elephants , who observed that elephants naturally avoid bees as soon as they hear buzzing.
There are other benefits to this approach: farmers in Tsavo will become more involved in conservation and friendlier towards elephants, so there will be reduced poaching and increased safety for the animals. In addition, the honey production from the hives provides a steady, sustainable source of income for the farmers.
