Autism ASD Speaker and Workshop

Donation protected
My near 90 year old father was diagnosed with Aspergers 2 years ago. (I'll put more about his story at the end of this.) I have been looking for answers to help him in his quest to "Calm this mental mechanism."  I found Lynette Louise while watching the Autism Channel. She has agreed to help us by flying in to do a workshop on July 30th for $2000 plus travel expenses. She will stay an extra day and do individual sessions if you wish to book time with her so let me know now as we are booking the flights.

I am so excited to have found someone who gets results! I am inviting everyone I know PLUS people who work in the ASD community!  If you are unable to attend,  please please pitch in and help us pay for this amazing opportunity. Even a few dollars will help us.

As of today 7-8, I found a co-sponsor who is offering us a venue to hold the workshop! If you want to attend, they suggested to me to ask for a $50 donation per person to help reimburse me, as I am paying for it up front.(Normally, this opportunity would cost $200 per person.) I don't want money to be the reason someone can't come. If someone really can't afford it, come anyhow. You won't be turned away. Just donate what you can. I will have tickets available soon.

Here's what other people have said:

“Lynette is not only packed full of valuable information you won’t hear anywhere else, she is also incredibly entertaining in her delivery. She is a leading edge expert who isn’t confined by walls. She thinks outside the box and has so much insight to share! “
~ Julie Sando, Director of Autistically Inclined

“I was floored! Lynette Louise, The Brain Broad spoke to our group of diverse individuals and every word she spoke was life changing for every person in the room. She made us laugh, learn, cry and become better. ABSOLUTELY recommended!” ~Jody Moore, President and Founder of the Alameda Autism Community Network

“Lynette never ceases to amaze me. She is a dynamic and unique force in the field of autism. There’s just no one like her. She comes into your home and makes things better for everyone involved by pulling from a never-ending assortment of “magical” tools: family work, cognitive techniques, neurofeedback, an encyclopedic understanding of autism and parenting.” ~ Meredith Altschuler, M.S.W. Autism parent; Teacher of neurotypical children and children with autism.

About my father:

He was diagnosed first with schizophrenia in his 50s and then rediagnosed with ADHD in his 60s. At 87 they were hell bent on diagnosing him with Dementia. I lived with him for a while the last 2 years and my experience was that, although he was slow in thinking and had short term memory issues, he acted more like people I knew who were Autistic. So I went on a quest for answers looking for something that fit.

I asked him a lot of questions about his childhood. I talked with his sisters and my mother (his ex-wife) and also pulled up my own painful memories of my anal retentive father who needed everything done his way, the perfect way. He was blunt and abrasive and quick to point out any flaws, seeming not to care about the feelings of the other person. I remember that my friends called him Mr Spock and told me he was"weird."

He had worked for NASA as an engineer and later on as a professor of mathematics and drafting. He rarely smiled and always seemed to be busy working on some project and obsessing over the details. I would see him sitting for hours doing calculus problems for fun. He said calculus had a beautiful flow, like music, and that it quieted his mind.

He only had a couple of friends and often said he didn't understand "your social customs." He came across as arrogant with his unusual way of wording things. People either thought he was a prophet or a crazy person. He would shake his head and say, "I don't live in your world." And he was right. He doesn't live in our world.
