Thomas's battle againts Leukemia

My name is Cindy Martin,  Sister of Alanna Hamanishi and this is my darling nephew Thomas Hamanishi.
Just over a week ago like all other 9 yr old boys he leaped with excitement to enjoy the joys of summer break. He had plans to play in the sun at the beach, swim, ride his bike, play soccer and spend time with his beloved friends, cousins and his dog buddy.
Then suddenly on Sunday July 3rd, Thomas was rushed to emergency at KGH with a extremely high fever. As blood test results came back it showed his blood levels were dangerously low. He was then within a few hours rushed off to Vancouver Children's hospital.
On Monday July 4th, Thomas was admitted to the Vancouver Children's Hospital. This amazingly brave boy underwent multiple blood transfusions, a bone marrow aspiration, a spinal tap and numerous blood tests.
After all his tests, Thomas has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) and was started on chemotherapy.
The treatment Thomas needs will take up to 3 years to make him well again. The majority of his treatment will have to be done in Vancouver and his family lives in West Kelowna.
Thomas will not be able to enjoy any of summer this year. Thomas now has to fight for his life.

Thomas just completed Grade 4 at George Pringle Elementary and loves playing hockey with the West Kelowna Minor Hockey association.
I am here to ask for your love and support to help get Thomas healthy and back home. This is a parents worst nightmare.
