Help BRYC 01 Elite Get to Nationals

Donation protected

We're raising money to help our team get to the US Youth Soccer National Championships in just over three weeks. Our team qualified on July 5th by winning the U14 Championship at the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Tournament, which was held in Barboursville, West Virginia.

The approximate cost for this trip is $1,600/player (airfare, lodging, local transportation and meals). For many families, this is a significant amount of money to put out on such short notice, especially after each family spent close to $1,000/player for the trip to WVA. We are hopeful that friends, family, BRYC supporters, and soccer fans near and far will help our girls achieve their dreams!  Braddock Road Youth Club is a non-profit organization that is incorporated under a IRS 501.c.3 status (Fed ID # 54-1015722). Please maintain this for tax purposes.

Our story:
This past weekend, the BRYC 01 Elite travel soccer team, based out of Fairfax, VA, won the US Youth Soccer Region 1 Championship at the U14 level, after competing head-to-head with 16 high caliber teams from across the region. The team, coached by John (JK) Kenny, has now qualified for the US Youth Soccer National Championships July 25-31 in Frisco, Texas.

The tournament was held in Barboursville, WV for the second straight year. In total, more than 260 boys and girls teams, ages Under-12 through Under-19, from the 15 Eastern US Youth Soccer State Associations that make up US Youth Soccer Region I (Connecticut, Delaware, Eastern New York, Eastern Pennsylvania, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York West, Pennsylvania West, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia and West Virginia) competed in the tournament.

About the National Championship Series:
The US Youth Soccer National Championship Series is the country's most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing approximately 185,000 players on more than 10,000 teams from US Youth Soccer's 55 State Associations. Annually, the USYS NCS provides the nation’s top collegiate coaches with the premier stage to identify and scout the most coveted players in the country. In 2015, more than 500 coaches attended the US Youth Soccer Regional Championships including many of the top programs in the country.

BRYC 01 Elite has less than a month to raise money to cover the expenses of this trip. In total 17 players and two coaches, along with their families, will travel to Frisco, Texas as the team vies for a National Championship against seven other elite teams from around the country.

Our team:
Our roster includes 14 players from Fairfax County, one player from Prince William County and two players from Loudoun County. These stellar student athletes have dedicated 2+ hours/day over 3-5 days/week for the past 12 months to get this far.

About BRYC Soccer:
Braddock Road Youth Club (BRYC) has had a rich history in the community since 1966. With growing numbers in the area, BRYC was created to ensure everyone got a chance to get involved in group sport activities. Starting with the first game in 1966, BRYC has brought group sports to an estimated 175,000 children. Every thing we do, our goal is to create and foster a positive environment for the children to grow and learn as individuals and as a team.

BRYC continues to be a part of the community and bring parents and children together in sport. We strive towards being the best sports program in the area and take pride in our work with children. In 2006, we broke ground on Wakefield Park. BRYC was proud to lead the effort in forming a partnership with the Fairfax Women’s Soccer Association and the Northern Virginia Soccer League, and we put together a successful proposal for funding this new turf field.

BRYC Elite is the Travel Soccer organization of the youth club.  We have a rich history of developing elite players and teams, including 7 Virginia Hall of Fame players (Meghan McCarthy, Wendy Gabauer, Cindi Harkes, Amanda Cromwell, Mia Hamm, Jillian Ellis, and Julie Shackford) and 80+ State Champions, 40+ Regional Champions, and 4 National Champions.  Our last national championship was won in 2012, with current DoC Larry Best led our 95 Elite Girls to the 2012 US Youth Soccer Under 16 National Championship.

We thank you!
We thank you all for supporting us, cheering us on and following our journey.
