My name is Llarin and I am a Sensei with Chris Fay's Okinawa Karate School. You can check out our website at mwcgoju.com and facebook @okinawagoju to find out more about our traditions, history, and the skills we provide our students (as well as some awesome video demonstrations).
We are hoping to raise money to honor the school's owner and lead Sensei, Chris Fay, by providing him a ticket to Tokyo, Japan. Our school is part of an organization that meets there every spring and for the last three years he has been unable to attend due to finicial struggles.
He often sacrifices his personal income to maintain the school and it's equipment. He works hard for his students and prizes commitment and loyalty above their ability to afford membership, often allowing for late or reduced payment to ensure they can continue their training.
100% of the funds will be used to help Sensei Chris with bills for the dojo and hopefully to send him to Japan to represent our small school from Oklahoma! In order to get him to Tokyo, we would need the funds in the next four to six months so he can plan his trip and get ready.
He's unaware of this fundraiser and we hope to be able to surprise him as he is truly deserving of something positive after a very difficult year.
This would mean a great deal not only to me, but to the other students here at the school who are loyal to him because of his own generosity and sacrifice in order to share his knowledge and love of karate.
