We are asking for your help to raise money to assist in our beautiful Nikeea's recovery.
On the 26th of June, Nikeea was in Broadbeach on the Gold Coast celebrating her birthday with her family when tragedy struck and Nikeea fell 11 meters over a handrail in the Oasis Shopping Centre. Nikeea landed head first, falling 2 floors and endured very serious, life threatening injuries to her head, face and pelvis.
Nikeea was rushed to Southport hospital, where she was induced into a coma and remained unconcious for 6 days in intensive care. Nikeea suffered severe swelling and bleeding to the brain, and surgeons feared for her mental recovery. She endured severe fractures to her eye sockets and cheek bones, as well as broken ribs and her pelvis was shattered.
During this time, Nikeea has had her family by her side, as well as her loving partner, Braeden. This horrific accident has understandably left her family both mentally stressed and distraught.
Nikeea was awoken from her coma, with close monitoring of her cognitive brain and memory function, and is still under the watchful eyes of doctors, where she currently remains in hospital.
At this stage, Nikeea faces a lengthy recovery period, with numerous upcoming surgeries and procedures to assist in her recovery. Nikeea has an upcoming operation to remove screws from her pelvis, as well as a procedure to remove a filter that was surgically inserted to stop blood clots. Gorgeous Nikeea has another surgery scheduled to reconstruct her eye socket, as well as many other cosmetic procedures in the future.
Nikeea is currently in a wheelchair, and cannot walk, due to her pelvis being shattered. Her pelvic region is retaining copious amounts of fluid and will need draining due to the trauma sustained.
Nikeea, Braeden and their families face very tough times ahead, being equally mentally, emotionally and financially draining. There are many costs involved in this ordeal, including months of physiotherapy and rehabilitation. Nikeea cannot work, and her partner Braeden will be without income as Nikeea will need full-time care when she eventually returns home.
Our job, as friends, family and supporters of Nikeea, is to lighten the burden of this stressful time, by giving what we can to help support these beautiful people.
Nikeea has such a big, generous and loving heart, and she would be the first one to help out any of us if we were in this situation. Nikeea has demonstrated such amazing strength and positivity throughout this ordeal, we just hope we can make her recovery a little easier.
As friends of Nikeea's, we would like to thank YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, for aiding in the recovery of this beautiful soul. Every cent helps.
Lets get this big, contagious smile back on her face.
Thankyou so much for your generosity.
