MORE THAN $100,000 already raised via GoFundMe and contributions from Cinemark, The Mitchell Foundation and Kohl's!
BACKGROUND:
On April 16th, 2016 The West Coast of Ecuador was devastated by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake. More than 660 people have been killed, with more than 27,000 injured. Thousands of homes, businesses, public buildings and schools are in ruins. In recent days, additional powerful quakes and aftershocks have again struck the region, causing further damage.
While the disaster has already faded from the world’s headlines, the acute needs of water, food, clothing and shelter are thankfully being addressed. Unfortunately, the people of Ecuador are also dealing with the long-term effects of heartbreaking loss of human life and property, along with the challenge of restoring their communities – specifically, the small business enterprises upon which countless families depend for their livelihood.
THE INITIATIVE:
The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation (USHCCF) with the help of its Chairman Nina Vaca and the Molina Niño family is aiding the reconstruction effort specifically to help entrepreneurs re-build their damaged or destroyed small businesses.
To raise awareness (and funds!) for this important humanitarian initiative, Nina Vaca, Chairman of the USHCCF and Chairman & CEO of The Pinnacle Group successfully competed in the grueling “Escape From Alcatraz” Triathlon on June 12th in San Francisco.
UPDATE:
Besides donating her own funds, and launching this Go Fund Me campaign, Contributions from Cinemark, The Mitchell Foundation, Kohl's and numerous friends and family members have totalled more than $100,000 !
