First Born Productions presents Equal Standard, a film about an off–duty New York City Police Detective who gets caught in an inner-city brawl between undercover cops convinced that he is a local street thug. The melee ends in a tragic death followed by an uproar within gangs and cops in neighboring communities and across the city. The film will feature many industry greats and will focus on the injustice occurring across the country between innocent civilians and the police department-with an emphasis on racial profiling within the New York City Police force.
The multi-talented screenwriter behind the film is Taheim, born and raised in Queens, NY. For twenty years he has been part of the Hip Hop and R&B scene. After great success in the music industry he decided to take his talents to the film industry.
