Super Typhoon Yutu Relief
Donation protected
On October 25th, the Northern Mariana Islands of Saipan and Tinian were devastated by Super Typhoon Yutu, the worst storm to hit US soil since 1935.
Countless people have lost their homes and the island will remain without running water and electricity indefinitely. They are in dire need of aid.
In an effort to help, we (fellow Saipanese in the Bay) are working to fill a 40-foot container provided by Matson on November 17th to be shipped from Oakland’s port to Saipan’s port for Marianas Young Professionals to distribute to people in need.
We need funds to:
1) Buy supplies to fill the container
2) Transport the supplies
We'll update all of our spending here if you want to track it.
We also have drop-off locations for donations all around the Bay Area:
Drop off sites
Types of donations we are accepting
Any contribution, whether it be donations, aid or prayers will help out more than you know.
I've seen some unreal footage of the storm and heard some heartbreaking stories from family and loved ones. The people of the Marianas are still so resilient. Even after their homes and belongings have been completely destroyed, they are still in positive spirits and standing strong to rebuild and recover together.
Thank you so much for your help!
